Nuts are recognised for being a nutrient rich heart healthy ingredient, packed with protein, fibre, healthy fats and antioxidants, delivering satiety, energy and nourishment.
Dried fruit acts as a convenient naturally sweet source of vitamins and antioxidants that support energy, gut health and digestion and overall health.
A versatile and healthy snack
Available in a variety of formats our dried fruit and nut ingredients can be enjoyed as a handy tasty snack on their own or used as a multi-functional ingredient.
This creates an opportunity to use these ingredients to act as a natural sugar replacement to reduce HFSS or to provide a functional nutritional boost.
In addition, they provide contrast and enhance meal enjoyment through the nutty crunch or chewy bite they deliver.
1. Chop mixed nuts into rough chopped small pieces.
2.Chop dates and apricots into pieces around the same size as the cranberries and raisins.
3.Melt together chocolate, peanut butter & coconut oil until smooth.
4.Reserve 30g of fruit & nuts to sprinkle over the top.
5.To the melted chocolate peanut butter mix add chopped nuts, fruit & seeds mix all together until fully coated.
6.Line a 20x20cm baking tin with baking paper and pour the mixture in, pack it down firmly.
7.Sprinkle over the reserved fruit & nuts, press into the top.
8.Refrigerate for 2 hours then cut into 16 squares

150g dark chocolate (minimum 80% cocoa)
75g smooth peanut butter
170g mixed nuts (we used almond, pistachio and walnut)
40g mixed seeds (we used pumpkin, sunflower and chia)
170g dried fruit (we used cranberry, apricot, raising and dates)
Coconut oil
Optional: add a pinch of salt if your chocolate tastes bitter.
