The 2026 cranberry harvest is underway across the Atlantic and whilst crop levels are expected to be below 2025 we are expecting to see a balanced outlook.
Based on fruit sampling, grower feedback and field observations, expectations have been adjusted slightly from earlier forecasts due to lower than anticipated yields in Wisconsin and below-average crop in eastern Canada. In contrast strong crop production is being reported in the key growing areas of Massachusetts, Washington and British Columbia.
Our partner in the US, Ocean Spray, assures us that overall fruit quality and crop conditions remain favourable as harvest begins. While crop performance varies across regions this season, Ocean Spray’s geographically diverse grower-owner network continues to provide an important advantage. Production across multiple growing regions in North America and Chile helps balance regional challenges and supports a more resilient supply system.
As harvest progresses, weather and field conditions will remain important factors influencing final production totals.
Processing capacity for cranberries remains constrained worldwide, and in some cases this is leading to limited supply and extended leadimes. We will continue to monitor developments closely and share updates as more information becomes available.
